Mission

To empower top MBA talent to build the commercial acumen to lead in Asia for the World by solving emerging Asia-Pacific (APAC) business challenges through learning and leveraging cutting-edge Eastern and Western industry best-practices in the world’s first East-Meets-West Global MBA Challenge.
 

THE CHALLENGE

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School is proud to unveil the MBA World’s first annual East-Meets-West Multifaceted Case Competition. Bringing together top talent representing the best global MBA programs, the competition comprises a two-day challenge solving APAC-specific business cases while connecting students with global business executives, in the world’s freest economy and Asia’s financial and business epicenter, Hong Kong.

Drawn on inspiration from Columbia Business School’s MBA Odyssey (www.mbaodyssey.com), the Global MBA Challenge comprises a three-game tournament, where competing teams are measured on several cross-functional dimensions of commercial acumen. Spanning industries and functions, the competition provides students with exposure to the unique dynamics of the APAC markets and enterprises, and challenges students to deliver innovative strategies and solutions.

With insightful presentations from global business executives, the Challenge aims to foster a comprehensive learning environment for students to deepen their understanding of the convergence of Eastern and Western business practices in Asia and further develop their leadership skills.

As an HKUST MBA student ideated, organized, and run competition, the Global MBA Challenge represents an unparalleled opportunity for international student teams to gain unique insight into the intricacies of some of the world’s fastest growing economies and expand their global expertise and network.
